Look, as I write this Heroes of Might and Magic 3 is over 20 years old so it is clearly showing its age in the graphics department.
However, on the flip side of this, if you rush into a situation without having the right stuff, you can get mercilessly destroyed in no time at all. You have the right units, heroes, and gear, you stand a good chance. You see, the turn based combat in the game is all about how well you prepared beforehand. Back when I was a teenager and all I had was time, I had no problem spending hours getting ready for a fight. This is a game that requires a great amount of dedication from the player. I have to say that Heroes of Might and Magic 3 is not the kind of game for those of you that want something you can just jump in and have a quick game of. A huge amount of what you do in this game and how successful you are on the battlefield comes down to what you do before the battle. You are a hero that has a castle and you need to build upon this, hire troops, and more heroes, gather resources, and always be trying to improve what you have or get better. I was mind blown when the final campaign unlocked as it felt like the biggest game I had ever played at the time.Īt its core Heroes of Might and Magic 3 is a classic turn based strategy game and one of the best of this era in my humble opinion. Each one lets you experience a story from a different faction’s point of view and as someone who was new to this series at the time, I found it all fascinating. To start with, it tells an exciting fantasy plot that lets you play through several campaigns. However, I do remember a fair bit about the game. You have to take into account that it has been quite some time since I played Heroes of Might and Magic 3. What does this have to do with this game? Well, my dad would regularly stop by our local game store and pick up the latest game, even if he knew nothing about it and that is how we ended up with this! A Tale To Remember Back in the 90s (I want to say 96) we got our first family computer and for the time it was a beefy Packard Bell that could pretty much play anything that was out at the time and a couple of years later my old man went all in with PC gaming and we ended up with a Compaq machine that was state of the art for its day. Heroes of Might and Magic 3 is a game that fills me with a ton of nostalgia.
